PERSONAL FINANCE, FINALLY EXPLAINED LIKE A HUMAN
Nobody taught you this. We’re fixing that.
Adulting With Alexis breaks down money — budgeting, credit, taxes, saving, debt, investing — in plain English. No jargon. No shame. No “just stop buying coffee.” Just small steps that add up.
You know the feeling.
Your card gets declined over an overdraft fee you didn’t know existed. You nod along in a conversation about credit scores while quietly Googling “utilization ratio” under the table. You get an open enrollment email and just… don’t open it. None of that means you’re behind. It means nobody ever actually sat you down and explained it.
✓ Not taught in school
✓ Not a personal failing
✓ Fixable, starting today
So consider this that sit-down conversation. The one nobody had with you.
Adulting isn’t a test. It’s a practice.
Nobody fixes their financial life in one dramatic weekend — and if something promises that, be suspicious of it. What actually works is small, repeatable decisions: moving a little money into savings this week, actually reading one statement you’d normally ignore, one slightly better choice than the one before it.

Every episode ends with one small, doable next step. Not a to-do list. Just the next step.

Growing What You Have
Saving habits that actually last, good debt vs. bad debt, and investing with as little as $10.
The Big Picture
Net worth, income vs. wealth, and what financial freedom actually means for you.
Hi, I’m Alexis.
I’m not a financial advisor and I don’t have a finance degree. What I do have is about a decade of learning this stuff the slow way — through overdraft fees, a credit card I didn’t understand at 21, and a savings account that earned basically nothing for two years because I never bothered to compare it to anything else.
I got tired of feeling like the only one who didn’t know this stuff. So I started explaining it the way I wish someone had explained it to me — plain language, real numbers, zero shame.

Every episode is paired with a free or low-cost worksheet — a one-page account tracker, a budget starter template, that kind of thing. Concrete tools, not just information to remember.
What’s your biggest money question?
This whole project grows based on what people actually need — not what I assume they need. Drop your biggest money question or your own “adulting fail” in the comments. It might just become the next episode.
